Pulling into Long Bay Pointe Boating Resort in Virginia Beach meant landing in the lap of luxury – and not a bad landing at that! In charge of it all is marina director, Virginia Morton, whose youthful enthusiasm (she loves going to work, she tells us) belies over 20 years of boating experience. Her friendly and competent manner made us feel welcome and at home within minutes of our arrival.

Dear Virginia,
I am writing to thank you for taking such good care of me while I stayed at Long Bay Pointe! Our fishing season was great and being at the marina with tackle shop and fuel right on hand only made things much easier on me. Thanks for all your kind, courteous service and understanding. HI Virginia,
I wanted to pass along a compliment you received today from a boat slip renter. Gene Hensleigh asked me to let the owner know what a valuable asset you are to the marina. He said you have always been very positive, polite and cooperative in all his dealings with you. Keep up the good work and know that people do appreciate your professionalism. Sue Galloway, Va. Beach, Va

Dear Mrs. Morton,
I am writing to you to thank you most profusely for allowing us to commence our “Star of the Sea” boat parade from your slips. It is most community-conscious and generous of you. Because of circumstances, many people are reluctant to do anything for the community today. We are most grateful, to put it mildly. Rev. Thomas Quinlan, Church of the Holy Family, Va. Beach, Va.
